The primary objective of the Support to National Statistics project in Liberia is to enhance the capacity of the Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) to produce and disseminate reliable and timely statistical data. This is crucial for evidence-based decision-making, policy formulation, and effective monitoring and evaluation of development programs. The project also aims to modernize data collection infrastructure, develop human capital, and make data more accessible and comparable within the region.
A successfully completed census exercise will lead to higher levels of government effectiveness through evidence-based policy making, development, economic and governance planning, monitoring and evaluation.
